Late to the party again, I know, but I just spun this classic for the first time and all I can say is wow. Dupree Bolton in particular is stunning, but the whole band gets in their licks. What a shame about the trajectory of Bolton's life. I bought the Heavenly Sweetness 180 gram vinyl reissue this past weekend. There is light surface noise in a few spots, otherwise the sound is excellent. I would say the recorded sound is better than Blue Notes of the period, perhaps surpassed only by Contemporary, whose sound during that period is stunning. dh |

Yeah, The Fox is smokin'. I'm a big Harold Land fan, and Bolton plays great on that album. Have the LP. nt, posted on July 29, 2014 at 14:09:40

Yep, very nice album. Think I have everything Hutcherson/Land recorded together. nt, posted on July 29, 2014 at 20:59:07
