Just re-released tunes from Maazel/Cleveland not on Amazon as yet.

Sounds pretty good to me.

This set has attained somewhat a "cult" status as a reissue under the Scribendum label. Berkshire has it in stock off-and-on. It will be nice to get the Eloquence reissue for sonic comparison. You're right, though. It is a very good Brahms set.

Will buy when it's released, posted on July 20, 2014 at 17:33:13

Someplace out on LP there was a Brahms 1 with Maazel & the Clevelanders recorded while the orchestra was on tour in Austrailia.

It's nice to see that much of the Maazel era Cleveland recordings are coming back in print. I'm not much of a Maazel fan, but orchestra was magnificent in those days.
