Hi all...

So at some point I will have to replace my Sunfire Signature amp hooked to my Maggie 20.7s....

Tough to hear things these days ... So looking for experience/opinions...and I hope this doesn't get long winded on my side....

Considering Pass Labs:
I listen - eh - normally 80db - or 85 max db range....90db maybe on a good night?

First: what model with a maggie 20.7? XA series .... X series.... would the Int-250 work? What model do you think in each series if you were to recommend one? I would prob only afford the XA100 max (is that enough?) - I sit 10' from speakers...

Second thought: Gryphon Diablo 300 integrated....

And finally - anyone have an opportunity to give me an idea of the house sound across either brand?

Thx. Tim.

The INT250 would work nicely I think, but try to find one. A good class
D amp would be cheaper and sound just as good, if not better. Several
people here are using PS Audio M700 or M1200 and like them a lot. A
BAT VK3000 or VK3500 would also probably work nicely.

I use a Gryphon Diablo 300 with my 20.7s. It replaced Coda monoblocks with a McIntosh preamp. Before electric cars, I was told there was nothing like driving a 12 cylinder car because of its torque. That's my analogy for the Gryphon. Rock solid control of the Maggies. I'd call its sound neutral.

Oh wow. Thanks for responding. If I go integrated it is between the Gryphon and the int250 from pass. I have no idea what your prior amps brought to the table. Was the Gryphon transformational w your 20.7? A jaw dropper?

Incremental improvement? Yes. Noticeable? Yes. Jaw dropping...-. No. Previous amp/preamp was already excellent. Codas were 450 watts into 8 ohms with the first 40 class A. Purchase was for simplification.
