I removed the steel jumpers from my LRSes a while back and replaced them
with copper jumpers from Anticables, terminated with banana plugs. Nice
little upgrade. To do that, I removed the allen screws from the
receptacles, pulled the steel jumpers, inserted the Anticables jumpers
and did not re-insert the allen screws. So far so good.

I've been thinking lately that I would try the one ohm resistors
furnished by Magnepan to try to tame some screechyness in the treble on
some recordings. So yesterday, I broke out the resistors and the allen
screws and the "L" shaped allen wrench furnished by Magnepan and tried
to insert the resistors. I nearly lost my religion trying to do this.
The biggest problem is the shape of the allen wrench - the "L" shape of
the wrench prevents turning it continuously.

So my question is, where if anywhere can I buy allen wrenches that are
not "L" shaped, but are just a straight piece of metal?

And if you have any other thoughts on this subject, I'd be happy to
read them.

Look for a set of T-handled Allen wrenches. A socket set would work too.

Look for Allen head screwdrivers. Either that or keep inserting, turning 180deg, insert, turn...

Maybe the iFixit Kits, or Double Ball End Allen Keys Would Work?, posted on November 9, 2021 at 11:15:11

The small iFixit kits are great for those kind of situations, containing assorted bits.

Some real nice double ball end allen keys are also available. They are not completely flat, but are long and don't have an overly large "L" shape. The "ball" ends also give you some angle play. Meaning they don't have to be perfectly parallel in use.

Whatever you get, buy a good quality one for best fit and hardness grade. Otherwise both the tool and the hex screw usually end up getting damaged. Then becomes a real pain.

Handy little tool. Should be included with Maggies.

Snap-On flexible shaft ball end hex driver. PN MD18B

The detail of the shaft doesn't show up well in this pic. It is a tight spiral and flexes nicely but still can exert sufficient torque.

The Magneplanar allen screws are 5/64 inch. My favorite allen screwdrivers are the ball-end allens from Wiha. Wiha makes really good tools.

Amazon sells them => https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001IULQFO/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_6B4WE3GTJ2A02QZWB5NJ
