Anyone using this combination?

I have been using some older Emotiva amps (UPA-1) that provide 350watts @ 4 ohms. The HINT 6 is 240watts. I know that Parasound is good stuff and John Curl is a great designer.

I googled and saw lots of HINT 6 and 0.7 & LRS reviews, but not much 1.7, I would appreciate any input from anyone using this combination.

Thanks!

UPA 1 is not high current enough for the 1.7. XPA 1 and what followed really does justice for the speakers at modest expense-They thrive with mono blocks. And what JC did has been absorbed by less expensive amps that are available.

Can I please ask for a few examples of available less expensive amps that have followed what John Curl did? I would be very appreciative, thanks!

I am a bit soured on Emotiva at this point, in less than 10 yrs most of the UPA-1's caps are swelled and leaking. I can't complain too much for the price paid for them, but would prefer an option with better quality.

I auditioned a HINT6 against a Rogue Audio Cronus Magnum II. The Rogue
was clearly better so I bought it. Then I became discontent with the
Rogue, and bought a PS Audio Stellar Gain Cell Dac/Preamp and a pair of
Stellar M700 amplifiers, and that setup is a clear step up from the Rogue.
The PS Audio is readily available used. Try it. I believe you will like
it.
