External tweeter options for MG-1 w/bad tweeter.

So, just wondering if any preferred tweeters to use, such as
1" dome type, etc.. If anyone had the SPL/watt spec. on the MG-1's
that would be great too..

Also, is the tweeter section 4 ohms also?.

Not interested in OEM replacement kits from Maggie.

So depending on which version you have, you will be looking for a tweeter that is flat-ish from 1.6k or 2.4k on up. General rule of thumb is to add an octave to a tweeter's stated frequency response (Fs) to avoid any non-linear behaviour at the bottom of the range.

So you'll want a 4 ohm tweeter that with Fs of about 1k, somewhere in the 83db/W/m range. Of course you could adjust some of this with the crossover but that's a whole 'nother can of worms.

This will likely end up being a larger tweeter...

Thanks...may end up changing cap to 6-8 mf so I can use 6 or 8 ohm tweeter. Ones that I have on hand.
