Hi all,
Just wanted to double-check with someone who made their own socks for their Maggies.
I bought a roll actual "speaker grill cloth" from a local fabric store, and want a local tailor to make new socks for my Maggies. This cloth is quite stretchy. How much smaller should I make socks compared to the frames (width-wise)? I think the original socks are the same width as the speakers.
I had another pair of socks made ~10 years ago for my other pair, but made no notes :(. I remember making them much longer, so I could cut to length, but I don't remember what I did with the width.
Thank you.

since the measurements are the same from top to bottom. I'd say wrap the (naked) panel with the two fabric ends very snugly and measure the two corners. I'd probably subtract a 1/2" or 1" depending on the fabrics elasticity.

You're in the USA. I am in Canada. By the time these $40 socks will make it to Canada, they will cost $200.

I took one of the original socks off the speaker. It's exactly 1" shorter than the speaker, and 1/4" shorter on the width. New speaker cloth is more stretchy than original thick cloth, that's why I'm hesitating whether I should go with the same dimensions as original sock or slightly smaller.

Hi Viper:

There is a gent named Vince who posted his sock replacement experience on CAM and can likely provide many helpful tips. I believe the equivalent
of Fabricville in English Canada is Fabricland.
