looking to buy sound deadener sheets (what is now available, as old link is obsolete) and upgrade my speakers when I take them apart to fix a rattle that the right speaker has (near the top of the mylar).

btw I recently acquired the MG12 with Sound Anchor stands, Solen cap + foil inductors upgrade (Positive Feedback issue 4) and 5 way binding post which bypasses the tweeter fuse. They sound darn good but sometimes have thin/aggressive high end.

I know you guys are very familiar with this and hope you can help.

thanks in advance!

Phil

See URL and this one too for CLD sheets for Razoring.

To get rid of the Solen shrill you can bypass the cap with a small foil cap like this one

thankyou Satie, pardon my ignorance, are you saying to replace the Solen cap with the Dayton Audio? ($1.37)!, posted on January 22, 2017 at 12:46:54

No, I am saying to bypass it - i.e. hook it up in parallel to the Solen cap. It will increase the value slightly but will mostly affect the subjective tonal balance to take out some of the edgey treble introduced by the Solen film cap. Usually brings out detail too.

I see thanks for the lesson it makes perfect sense..., posted on January 22, 2017 at 18:46:49

It's very good that you're trying this! Would have sent you email on a fun thing to try before the upcoming surgery but it seems to be disabled. Mine is on for now in case you send a note.
