Help. Looking for a nice pair of Tympani 1D. Might consider IVa but would prefer
1D

Looked up with hifi shark and scrubbed the craigslists and there are no T1D at the moment. There is a very expensive Infinity hybrid with T1D panels. And there is a very expensive working TIVA.on ebay

Thanks very much. I know about the Iva on ebay. It is way way over priced. Again thanks. Bob

I also see a I-D there:

To whatever price I'd find, more likely than not I'd add on the cost of making them "nice". Either by sending them to Magnepan or being restored by someone else (including myself if I were so capable). The surest thing of course is the former.

These are very rare beasts. Therefore you pay what the market demands.

Or you wait. Interestingly enough, 3 pairs of T-1Ds and a pair of T-IVs came up in Oz in the last 18 months. All of them have required a full re-wiring by the Oz Maggie importer - which is about a USD2500 hit (including shipping).
