I rewired my MAgnapan MGIIIa's last night and early this morning, trying to maintain order amonst all the wiring and keeping them up off the carpet to avoid static electricity interference. An interesting undertaking without a doubt.
Here is the result.
Subs - Wireworld Soltice 7 (13 ga. OFC Copper)
Bass panels - Vampire SC Biwire combined (Silver/OFC Copper strands mix 9 ga.)
Mid range and Ribbons - Audio Magic Extreme XL (10 ga. Silver Plated OFC Copper)
Initial listen is solid, I hope to do some serious listening this evening!

Regards,
Jim

Can you feed your subs at line level rather than speaker level?

Are you cutting off the bass from the 3A or running it full range?

They are fed balanced linestage from the Preamp ARC LS16MKII to the NHTX1 crossover. The MGIIIa's are cut off at 42hz. The subs run up to 61hz.

Jim

OK I see what you are doing. Don't have a better idea.

Is the XO upgraded or stock?

I am guessing the mid amp is a quicksilver. What is the tweeter amp? what are those tubes with the top tap? Looked at your main listing and it says the ribbons are driven by a quicksilver mini.but that does not look like one.

From the wiring I am guessing the subs are passive. If so, I am thinking you might want a somewhat heavier gauge solid core like a 10 magnet wire.

The Tweeter Amps are indeed Quicksilver Mini Monos. The Tubes are 6GB6GA Tubes using a 6L6 adapter. I run JJ Blue Bottle EL34L in the Quicksilver M60 (60 watts each) and Svetlana EL34 in the Mini Mono (30 watts each) The minis have a 2 ohm tap on them which I use for the ribbons. I switched to the EL34 in the mini recently.

The Behringer DCX2496 has the new power supply, and analog output board upgrades by Selectronic of France.

Did you use the DCX to time align the speaker?

What do you think of the Selectronic output mod? This is the first I have seen of it in use.

I really like the quicksilvers, Outstanding value. I did not know they had a 2ohm tap option on any of the models, that would be quite useful for me too..

So far I like and recommend the DCX2496 mods. The power supply has a delayed startup which I'm sure is to allow stabilization, and the unbalanced outputs are much smoother with just a touch of high end definition loss. The inputs are not as sensitive I should note, and will require adjustments of the input levels to compensate. Only the Quicksilver Mini Mono has a 2 ohm tap to the best of my knowledge, it was what drove me to them to drive the ribbons.
