You know Maggies are great speakers and have value above their price range. When you see them in a awesome house with built in acoustic treaments, along with some very expensive VTL electronics, this is an impressive system.

Very cool room and really unusual construction. Did he build it himself? Doubt you can find anyone with expertise in this ancient construction technique.

Actually, plastered-over walls made of straw bails, or walls made from stacked and earth filled old tires are very common building techniques used today in ultra low energy consumption homes. The technique seem to be quite popular hot/desert areas ... at least in the US. I've even seen empty beer or soda cans cemented together to form the core of the walls and then covered over with plaster or sheet-rock.

Well, I can imagine that would be a moldy death trap in a wet climate. But it was actually a traditional construction in europe in between beams. I am aware of the recycled materials movement for low energy homes.
