Acoustat Model 1 woofer repair or replacement

I just took possession of Acoustat Model 1 speakers, and I need to replace the woofer surround or replace the entire woofer. If replacing the surround is the best way to go, does anyone know who does this in the south Los Angeles area? If better sounding woofers are available, does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
