MMG's, 1.6's... the side bits of wood ran up the speaker, no screws or anything like that.

I see pics of the .7's with screws of bolts or something on the side.

What up with that? Looks nowhere near as clean as the old style.

Can you still get .7's with the side rails like the older speakers, not bolted or screwed on?

When I had a listen to the MG .7 at my local dealer I noticed the wood trim was held on with what appeared to be a screw with a Torx head. The strip was quite flat and much wider than the thin rails seen previously.
While not as clean as using brad nails, removal should be much easier with much less chance to wreck the wood trim.
I found replacing the socks on my MG 12s to be a real pain courtesy of those brads placed every 5 or 6 inches.
Only option is type of support- regular feet or new pedestal.

The sonic presentation of the 0.7 should quickly make one forget their appearance.

I have a post running below about the .7's with the Rel S2 that I heard at Audio Perfection.

The .7's had the AL trim with black cloth. I am a guy that likes Industrial Design, so I thought they were really sleek looking. They are thinner than the MG 12's, narrower and slightly taller...I did like the oval base and the peg legs, which I know is an upcharge...

My 3.7's are the AL trim with the gray fabric and custom color Mye Sound stands...which Grant matched beautifully...

As I said I like that Industrial look...but hey, that's why they make Fords and Chevys...I do not know if the all the trim has screws showing...

FYI...this speaker, IMHO, is a home run for its size and what it delivers in SQ...

Thanks
Mark

I don't know if the side rails have a positive, negative or no effect on their sound, however to my eyes they look 'sexier' with the side rails.
