JRiver Media Center continues to amaze. In DSP Studio, I enabled the Parametric Equalizer with these settings:
+1 dB at 45 Hz
+2 dB at 40 Hz
+6 dB at 30 Hz
Boosting the bass at these settings - although still a work in progress - seems to compensate for the natural rolloff of these speakers enough to not feel the need to add an external woofer. Your settings will probably be different, but this might be a good place to start.

My room is small-medium size and the volume is never loud enough to exceed the capabilities of these fine speakers.

Happy listening!

Regards,
JerryS

Just be careful to not over boost. The drivers are stretched tautly and too much boost might stretch them. And another good idea, if you can, after boosting is to add roll off below the region you want increased bass, for protection.

Good idea. I'll start with a 10 dB cut at 20 Hz and see (hear) how that works.

Thanks

How far are you setting the speakers from the FW?

have you tried a Limage setup? It improves the bass substantially with wall loading.

If your room allows for it you can also have a big step up in imaging. It often means an impractical reorganization of the room.

My room offers limited placement options and is asymmetrical. Tweeters on the outside works much better than on the inside.

The 10 dB cut at 20 Hz makes the bass sound muddy. I am pretty happy with these settings in JRiver DSP Studio:

+1 dB at 45 Hz
+2 dB at 40 Hz
+5 dB at 30 Hz
