but neither can I...
After switching the speakers of for a couple of days I thought I would check them before phoning the repairer. Turned them on and...no noise at all from offending speaker. Played music and they sound fine. I dont have a clue whats happened, unless its that they have dried out (assuming humidity was the problem)

Just FYI It could have been your front end and nothing to do with the speakers.

It seems that I have developed an intermittent ground hum recently, and running my front end through one of my filters, it stopped my 63's humming immediately.

Also do yourself a favour, buy a small dehumidifer for your room and a little digital hydrometer, my stats love me for it, I just turn it off when my stats go on because it has a little too much ambient noise when running.
