At a Stereophile show in NYC a few years back some exhibitor was playing a very expensive, large, full range ribbon speaker. I was floored by how good it sounded: superbly transparent with a purity of tone that was astounding. I thought it was the best sound of the show but it seemed to get no press, no recognition. Anyone remember. Can you identify it?

That was one of the few (maybe only) speakers at the Newport show that probably bettered my Maggies. They are great.

Any chance that they were 72" tall and about 28" wide?
Possibly John Taylor's Yankee FPR-72s? Had them easily replace a set of M-L CLS.More refined with a better harmonic structure top to bottom.Purely resistive at 6 ohm/90 db.

No, it wasn't Yankee Audio. I know that brand. I'm not sure if it was Analysis Audio. Anyone at this show remember?

Did they look like Scintillas? If so, maybe Perigee Synergy??

All the Scintilla performance and NOT 1 ohm (OK, 2.5 Ohm) and 95db/watt efficiency instead of the low 80s of the original Scintillas...
