I have a xo1 I want to use to biamp my tympani 4 I was going over the math for the capacitor to install for the high pass at 400 hz my amp input impedance is 47k and what I came up with is .006 mf but since I have never done this before and didn't have any luck finding that capacitor I'm not sure if I did the math correctly any help would be very appreciated

Capacitors only come in limited values. Typically you will only find E-12 values. You can look up the EIA system for passive components (resistors, capacitors and coils). Bottom line - you will not find 6 but can find 5.6 and 6.8. You can also wire two caps in parallel and the values are additive. For example 4.7 and 1.2 will get you 5.9 which is close enough for government work.
As to the calculation C= 1/(2*pi*f*Z) where Z is the input impedance of your amp. So for 400 Hz, 47Kohm, C= 1/(2*pi*400*47000) = 8465 pf. The closest you can get with a single cap is 8200 pf but if you want you could parallel a 4700 with a 3900 pf and get damn close. I have used RTE Rel-caps (2% tolerance) in this application. You can get them from PartsConnexion.
I will not get into a discussion here about using the XO-1 other than to say it's sort of half-ass but not a bad way to get into biamping.

Thanks I do have 2 dbx active crossovers also but wanted to try the passive approach to see the difference in the sense that less electronics in the signal path would yield better sound

There is probably a series capacitor inside your power amplifer. You can change it to a smaller value. That way you will remove an unnecessary stage, that is what the external capacitor that the XO-1 will introduce.

Well what I tried last night for 4 hours was both of my dBm crossovers with unsatisfactory results I don't know what type of roll off they use but the cutoff was to noticeable and if I dropped the high pass lower than 400Hz the sound was noticeable strained besides the fact that the high end sizzle was muted thru the electronic crossovers so since I'm not using my bass panels and I'm running custom made 5 cubic foot cabinets I made with jbl 2235s I used the factory crossover for the high end and I over lapped the electronic one a little over 400hz and adjusted the levels so the 15s would disappear keeping my sound stage where it was with the only difference being a lot bigger sound over all and slightly very slightly muddied bass but solid all the way down to 30hz where the cabinets are tuned. My prior set up was with the bass panels and two infinity servo subs that set was nice but always lacked the lower mid bass still want to try the capacitor and run the 15s and see if there is any improvement
