They look nice, but I'd think the design would tend to sound... off. Something like this is better IMHO.

Well, not quite.
I tried a setup with a single pair of 57's turned 90 degrees and I got better horizontal dispersion.
So, You really do not need the 2 extra sets of 57 to be aiming at You at a focused manner.
Instead, let them act like a line source even if they are bent a little.
