Hello everyone. It has been a while since I have been active on the forum. I hope that I can become more active now and contribute in the future. Life has thrown me some health curves with subsequent business activity improvement and it has all kept me very busy. I am back at tweaking my "Frankenpans" using a new crossover. I now have a DCX2496 and could use some suggestions as to crossover points and slopes, etc. I am using two Tympani 1-D bass/mid panels essentially for the bass response. The mids are custom Magnepan foil with a 2 ohm resistance. I may consider inserting a resistor to prevent my amp from clipping. So far if I don't really drive them too much it is fine. The frames are custom built OAK holding IIIa panels of which I do not use the bass part, just the foil mid and tweeter, which is also hinged for imaging improvement possibilities. I might add that I received a lot of assistance by all you guys here when building them a couple of years ago. Thanks again to all who helped. I could now use some further guidance. Here is a link to a previous post that includes a couple of pictures of the build. http://db.audioasylum.com/mhtml/m.html?forum=mug&n=191682&highlight=frankenpans+computerman&r=&search_url=%2Fcgi%2Fsearch.mpl%3Fforum%3Dtubes%26searchtext%3Dblack%2Bsable Thanks ahead for any help on this. |
