Small floorstanding speaker "similar to" MMG

I have happily owned MMG's for about five years and have recently moved into a new house where they will not work due to the layout of the listening (family) room.

Is there is a small floorstanding speaker out there that would provide a similar listening experience to the MMG's?

If you like 3D imaging like a flat panel, I've had really good luck with Triangle loudspeakers. Buy the model you can afford but even the small two ways are very good.

Might check out the Mirage line of "omnipolar" loudspeakers., posted on November 2, 2014 at 05:33:04

They have both small bookshelf sized ones and larger floorstanders. I have owned a previous generation model, the OM-9 and was very happy with it for a number of years. I've also owned 3 sets of MMGs (one "gunned") and two in the SMG series.

Mirage is a Canadian company (link below)

I was a Magnepan dealer for many years along with tons of other gear. For people that the Maggies just wouldn't work, we sold a lot of the Spica TC-50. These image out the ass. An excellent condition used pair sell for around $350 or so.

Also, if you could find a pair in decent shape, the "original" Linn SARA speakers are fantastic.

If I were stuck in a small room which did not have the floor space to accommodate a pair of MMGs I would consider wall mounting them (no, not in the literal sense of a picture frame, but with piano hinges that would 'swing out and then back again when not in use. Wiring would drop down behind the drywall and out the bottom.

Second is a small speaker setup recommended to me by M3 Lover who stopped by earlier this Summer. Unfortunately I've forgotten the name of the brand but hopefully he'll read this and chime in!
