I plan on doing the fuse and jumper bypass soon and would like to know if the spades on the wires slide off and on the posts easily. I'd hate to break something doing a relatively simple mod.

get yourself some dexoit. It helps to break up the oxidation and help with getting the spades off and then back on.

I would think there would be no oxidation, the speakers are only a month old. Thanks for the info and link though in case I need it.

Grab a set of needle nose pliers and take hold of the 'handle' end of the spade (narrow portion where the wires poke out) and gently wiggle them loose with a side-by-side action. Worked well on my old 1.6s that way.

Once I had them off, I drilled a small hole through each tab and threaded/wrapped my wire (in this case pure silver) through and around them.

ANY drilling near the panel should be done with a vacuum ON and near the proposed hole. You simply do NOT want any magnetic chips getting to the magnets, BETWEEN the magnets and the mylar or AnyWhere in there at all.

Controlling that kind of debris is a #1 priority when working on panels.

I should have looked closer before I posted this question. All you have to do is remove the nuts on the terminal posts and move the lugs to the proper posts. I did discover that Magnepan must have changed the wiring somewhere along the line, because it's different from a picture posted from a few years back. What a difference in sound though. I hope I never blow a tweeter because I can never go back to that fuse and jumper in line.
