spent around $300 for a water filter, I feel much healthier.

after drinking Tap water recently I would throw up, I got the filter system with the fluoride filters as well. Very nice.

I don't throw up anymore. I've noticed the water changing over the past 2 months. Probably lots more fluoride in the water that was getting me sick.

"New York City drinking water is world-renowned for its quality."

So says www.nyc.gov.

Seriously, I always thought it was pretty good. I drink it ... but who knows?

why not drink bottled water then ??

I drink Aquafina. Use it to cook rice too. (much better taste), posted on February 19, 2017 at 18:00:04
O like Aquafina a lot.
The water here is pretty good, but it used to be better when I lived closer to the water plant.

Also the Lake Michigan is being cleaned up by Zebra Mussels. They started way back in the 60's I believe, as unwanted aliens. But the fact is, they have really cleaned up the water quality in the past 50 plus years...
Back then the water was really murky. Now, on calm days one can see the bottom!.

something about the stray microwaves activating or deactivating something in the filter. Probably not true but he seemed knowledgeable. Ours is 8 feet away.

I was told having wifi was very dangerous, then I found out cell phone towers are even worse, so I gave up.

Regardless, having no fluoride in your drinking water, well you tend to not be dumbed down and docile as much. Not that I am not docile and dumbed down, but that is all self inflicted to deal with it all now.

Aquafina is very good. I tend to fall back on Poland Spring during the workweek, I don't trust the states water. They said the next war will be fought over water about 50 years ago.

Very sad state of affairs we find ourselves in, the natives warned us we are destructive and that everything we need is here from Mother Nature/ Mother Earth. We have destroyed damn near everything. So much so that we have to leave the planet and find elsewhere to live so we can destroy the next planet. Very sad state of affairs for mankind.

I've lived in NYC most of my life. The water here is better than bottled. When I go anywhere else I drink bottled water.

Penn and Teller did a Bulls*T episode about bottled water. Google it.

We just use the frig filter. It is a two stage filter with charcoal. Tastes great. We even use it for the dogs.

My wife buys bottled water, but I seldom drink it. The thing about bottled water is that if kept in the frig, the water picks up tastes from whatever is in the frig. We learned this the hard way. After Katrina and being forbidden to return home for weeks, everyone had refrigerators that smelled like dead meat.

Bottled water picked up that taste through the plastic bottle within hours. It doesn't seem like this would happen, but it does. We had to throw out bottled water we cooled in that garbage tinged frig. Only canned drinks Worked. The taste can't get through the metal.

Our refrigerator eventually made its way to the curb after many cleanings and attempts to get the smell out. Almost everyone had to replace their refrigerator. Stores sold out and there were none to be had for a while. People drove far and wide to buy one and haul it home.

I was in D.C. For work a lot last year, water smelt like fish, rancid.

Reverse Osmosis I will look into next, supposed to be the best. Not inexpensive to DIY either.

probable more fluoride in the NYC water to calm the deplorables, posted on February 20, 2017 at 08:25:58
Reason why the deplorables (the real ones) haven't set the city on fire yet, they've been wearing vagina hats instead.

You really can't make this stuff up.

Then think of lain old air.. Every breath has been a dinosaur fart..., posted on February 21, 2017 at 05:11:14
If you consider the air we breathe... The billions of years of air.. mixing and wandering in and out of billions of creatures..The putrid decay of endless animals, the farts and choked up diseased lungs spewing out decay..
So every breathe you take in, has many molecules of that same air farted out of endless animals asses...
Luckily also passing through endless plants... Never the less, it is the same atoms..

Anyway, for those with phobias.. sorry to ruin you day.

solves the problem of not likely the taste of water.

You ought to plan a trip to Lake Tahoe in California. Always loved the taste of their water. I understand that a little diesel from jet skies are always mixed in, but still relatively little compared to most tap water.

I thought NYC was supposed to have the BEST municipal water in the USA?
