Hi Mike, Steve Eddy referred me to your webpage where Mssr Lessard discusses an amp using teflon enameled magnet wire. I'd like to discuss your experience of teflon enamel, if you could give me a few minutes? If so, can I reach you at MQ?

Hi Tom:

for the life of me... I cannot remember the name of the company where I purchased the teflon enameled magnet wire...

it was many years ago... I was age-annealing the wire before use {smile}...

darn... my memory stinks...

if it comes to me I will post it....

hey... try Phoenix wire... or that's the name coming to me... they were in NH or Vermont as I recall....

best of,

Mike

Hi Mike, thanks for replying. Yes, Phoenix Wire is one of the small handful of companies I've discovered that teflon coats wire. I'll call them to inquire about their capabilities. I've purchased a roll of teflon enameled wire from California Fine Wire quite seemingly adequate for transformer, but I unfortuitously deleted the email from them telling me the finer stats. Which is to say I'm waiting to hear from them about such things as enamel thickness etc.

Did you find the teflon wire reduced capacitance? My guess is it would.
