Streaming options using the I2S interface of K&K Audio was formerly discussed. I just want to report the successful implementation of the K&K audio I2S send module into a pro-ject streambox DS and it sounds great. There is more resolution, the placement of the instruments is much better reproduced and it sounds much more natural as with the S/PDIF interface.
Btw: My streambox DS has also an altered power supply. I installed separate state of the art power supplies (from Thel audioworld) for the stream700 unit (which requires 5V once) and for the project board (left on the picture) which contains the DAC and regulates power up etc. of the stream700 module (requires 9V) and I used the "old" 5V voltage supply for the stream700 unit on the board to feed the send module.

Hi, Dual_01!
Good news!
Also I want to equip my Stream Box DS with I2S interface.
Can you provide any instruction?
Which of your modules I need to upgrade Stream Box?

You need a Dac with an I2S input option such as a RAKK Dac which accepts I2S signals in the PS audio format. Then, you need a I2S send module which converts the I2S signal from the streambox to the PS audio format. See the module on the upper left corner of my picture. This is from K&K audio but there is also fidelix in Japan who seems to offer them.
Then, solder the module as shown on the photo.
