I'm sorry to write that one of our own, who went by the moniker "tuneful" on this forum, died from the effects of ALS on Feb 19th. He was diagnosed in mid November 2013 and the disease progressed quickly. I am told that he was in little pain and was positive until the end.

Jim was a good friend and one of K&K Audio's principal beta testers. I shall miss the persistence, intellectual rigor, and precision which he exercised in testing and helping to improve the K&K products and ideas. I will also miss the camaraderie we developed over more than 10 years, discussing audio, music, family, careers, etc.

Jim was a Ph.D. metallurgical engineer who worked his whole career at Sandia National Labs. He retired about 5 years ago and had devoted more time to improving his audio system and rebuilding an old pick-up truck that was special to him.
