My friend Henry has decided to sell his vacuum tube stereo preamp he constructed back in the mid 2000s. It is a two chassis job, repurposing a nice looking David Hum Passive Preamp case for the audio portion and a separate power supply case of the industrial sort on a 6 foot umbilical. Henry's construction quality is excellent as you will be able to see from the pictures, if you are interested in looking. The topology is an early version of my implementation of the single stage differential triode (5687) amplifier with a phase splitting transformer in and another larger line output transformer. The transformer types used are both Lundahl products (2 x LL1544 and 2 x LL1660/PP selling now for about $400 new). The power supply is a choke loaded design with the choice of a tube or resistor damped silicon diode full wave rectifier (the latter is installed). The volume controls are mono laser trimmed thick film Alps 21 detented stepped attenuators. The price is a firm $275 plus shipping, if that is required. Send me an e-mail if you would like to see all of the pictures. |

Oh crap :) It would be a perfect active stage for my passive RAkK Mk III (and perfectly cheap to boost ) |
