I am wanting to try regulated G2 voltage for kt120 and kt150 tubes. And it would be nice if i could also use the regulator to power the 2 6sn7 driver tubes. would your hi voltage regulator be up to the task? I have read that if you regulate the driver tube in SE circuit one should also regulate the B+ for the power tube? Is this true? thanks for the help.
ps, i wanted to read the manual about the hi voltage reg but my computer doesnt have word.

The regulator is capable of delivering up to 100mA to the load + the shunt element.I have built many tube amps with regulated input stages and no amplifiers with regulated output stages. Many of these amps were very good sounding, so I can't agree with the authors of your reading material.

Send an e-mail to kevin@kandkaudio.com and I will send you a pdf of the instructions.

Ok. My plan is to get your hi voltage regulator and power the screens for a pair of kt150 in a SE stereo amp. Then tap off the voltage via suitable Resistor and cap combo for the B+ of 2 6sn7. Would there be any problems doing this. The issue that you may not be familiar with is that the plate of the 6sn7 is connected to the plate of the kt150 for anode to anode feedback. cheers, Dak

"I have read that if you regulate the driver tube in SE circuit one should also regulate the B+ for the power tube?"

If you regulate the B+ you need to regulate the BIAS so that the bias and output tube plate voltage track one another when there is a change in line voltage.

Well, i mostly wanted to know if what i read about the need to regulate B+ if one is regulating the driver tube B+. I am thinking of getting a high voltage regulator for the G2 supply and also for the driver tube B+.
