hey there,
i am putting together a PP amp using a 1676 as an input phase splitter (2:1+1) feeding a differential stage. i shall be using shunt feedback to both the grids of the differential stage. normally loading is across the input tx windings and all secifications are given that way - i am curious as to how this series loading will affect my 1676? how does series loading look to an TX? and is there an appropriate range of series resistance that will maximise bandwidth?

Since I have no experience with shunt feedback I will need to see a schematic to be able to (hopefully) contribute an answer to your question.

already posted this but don't think it went through so here goes again:

here is the schematic. values are not yet formalised. however i think i have worked it out: although each resistor in each leg of the 1676 appears in series with the transformer, the other end of each resistor is connected to a virtual earth ergo electrically they are indeed connected "across" the 1676 as a traditional loading resistor would be. so i guess it comes down to how close the virtual earth is i to the genuine circuit earth which i suppose is a function of gain. Am i correct in this?
