Hi:

Has anyone tried to implement a K&K CCS or Shunt Regulator Kit into a Bottlehead Reduction phono preamp? If so, was it straightforward and was there a sonic benefit? Thanks!

I haven't done this, although it should be pretty straightforward. obviously I can't comment on the sonic results.

Thanks for the reply. Would you recommend the full shunt kit or just the CCS? Also, are the instructions for either complete enough for someone that is comfortable with a voltmeter and has moderate kit building experience to implement? Thanks again!

Well, you can use a CCS for the plate load in the output stage of each channel, if you haven't already installed the Bottlehead CCS there, and you can install the 100-350V Shunt Regulator Kit to provide a regulated power supply for both channels. The kits come with complete step-by-step assembly and set-up instructions, but they will not, of course, include specific installation instructions for your particular application.
