From a 2V nominal source at the input of a preamp? I suppose that could be done with primaries in series and secondaries in parallel, correct?

If so, would there be any sonic benefit versus an LL1676 in the same arrangement?

It is possible to use the LL1948 for 2:1 service, but it's also possible that there will be wiggles in the high frequency performance due to the increased stray capacitance that paralleling results in. Such a phenomenon does occur with the LL1690, but the LL1948 has fewer turns of wire, so it might be small enough to ignore. The LL1676, however, will not suffer from that effect, because it can be used 2:1 with all windings in series.
