I've done a search on Jazz Alley for "Blue Note Tone Poet", and I only found one post. A search on all forums yielded more, but nothing about what the masters are being used, except for a passing remark posted by bill_stevenson@bellsouth.net, who merely said:

"What amazes me is that even vinyl reissues that are cut from digital masters very often sound superior to older editions that are all analog."

So, does anyone have any information about whether these use digital masters, a mix of digital and analog masters, or whatever.

Even Analog Planet is silent about this.

Appreciate any light anyone might be able to shed on this. Thanks.

All of the ones recorded in analog are all analog., posted on December 18, 2021 at 10:10:49
But there are a few from the digital era, such as the Cassandra Wilson, Charles Lloyd and John Scofield and these are from digital masters with the rest of the chain being analog. I believe the Analog Productions Verve UMG reissues are all analog as well. As is the less expensive Blue Note series pressed at Optimal.

Strangely, I find some of these to be too bright for my taste and brighter than some other pure digitally sourced LPs that I have.

And then I 've found a bunch of channels on youtube, all of which confirmed current Don Was led Blue Note's serious about all analogue vinyl.

Thanks.

ARE ALL ANALOGUE from tape to LP. A few are digital, but they are the exception.

Verve UMe are just about all analogue.

Craft premium reissues are a mix of analogue and digital.

There are rumors that an upcoming Bethlehem reissue series will be analogue.

Blue Note Tone Poet reissues are essentially Joe Harley/Music Matters products benefiting from not having to pay licensing fees, and the economies of scale that come from working with a large company.

There are several long thread on the Steve Hoffman Forum regarding Blue Note and other premium reissues.
