Another great late 1990's album. It was a golden era. Marcus Belgrave, Marcus Belgrave, Marcus Belgrave!

I was fortunate to trade some punk lp's that I was no longer interested in for a stack of creative jazz records including an original copy of "The Giant is Awakened" featuring a young Arthur Blythe. Tapscott was a true cultural hero in Los Angeles.

Up there with Sonny Sharrock on Pharoah Sanders' Tauhid as far as auspicious debut's go.

Miss them both - they were unique voices for the ages.

There is a far too brief but still welcome appearance of Sonny in this summer's great move SUMMER OF SOUL as he was a mainstay of Herbie Mann's groups of the late 60's early 70's.
