I bought this record by accident. I had never heard of Kevin Mahogany and didn't realize he was a vocalist. I would not have bought it. Turned out to be a fantastic record. I stumbled on the Hartman Coltrane record the same way.

Kevin Mahogany played the role of Big Joe Turner in Robert Altman's movie, "Kansas City".

Yep. I saw him perform with his octet back in the 1990's. I liked Kansas City. Should watch it again.
