Tone Poems is an album recorded by David Grisman and Tony Rice about 20
years ago. On each tune, each man plays a different vintage instrument.
The musicianship is top shelf and the fi is excellent.

Some of you are going to say "Well, these guys aren't jazz musicians!".
And my rejoinder will be: "Well, they are both A+ musicians on their
instruments and the music is for the most part as improvisational as
any more 'conventional' jazz recording". Granted, the repatoire is
somewhat different, but so what.

Enjoy.

I have that set. Jazz or not, it's a pleasure to listen to.
