Just stumbled across and found the Bob James Columbia albums . Been waiting for these .

if you want to hear the BEST bob james, before he became a member of the smoov jazz club where they make each record like the last three and next three, then you go to his circa 1963 album-bold conspiracies.

that's not to say that there weren't or aren't stimulating albums scattered throughout his career just that this particular on i stumbled on as a CD. but check it out if you can.

As part of the group Fourplay he has produced IMO his strongest material. As the producer of Kenny Loggins first and second solo albums Celebrate Me Home and Nightwatch respectively he hit major home runs... I have been waiting YEARS for the two of them to collaborate again... Probably will never happen... He also did collaborative albums with both Earl klugh and David Benoit which were quite successful....
