Well, the tune is "Chinatown", played by Nicholas Peyton, per the YT
writeup. The picture looks like a pretty generic noirish scene. Pic
could be from the movie "Chinatown" (one of the best movies ever made)
but I do not remember a scene like that one in the movie.

Chinatown is one of my top 5 all time movies, and I have seen it at least 5 times. I can say we 99% conviction that the picture is not from the film. I also think the theme song might rank as one of the top 5 jazz tunes written for a movie. [Aside: Also check out Mike Figgis's Leaving Las Vegas soundtrack.]

Chinatown, Composer was Jerry Goldsmith. The uncredited trumpet soloist was Uan Rasey (per IMDB). I have also been partial to Terrance Blanchard version (YouTube link below). I will have to give his and Payton's versions a serious side by side listen this evening.

BTW, Blanchard's rendition is on his excellent Jazz in Film CD.
