I bought a pair of Rethm Maargas and despite arriving on a pallet packed perfectly one of them is dead.

Both of the techs I used to use are retired.

Can anyone recommend a tech in the area (Chicago is possible if need be)? Information would need to be recent to be relevant.

Thanks.

Paul I'm so sorry to hear about this happening to you! You're much too nice a person to have this happen to them. I hope & pray the problem turns out to be a minor or at least a very inexpensive one to fix...

Paul:

Well, if you do not mind the trip to Chicago, I can try. Rethm used to use the Lowther drivers, and their new drivers are a variation of those. Can write to Jacob George and see if he can provide disassembly instructions.

Best,

Jon, thank you for the generous response. The issue actually is with the powered bass module, and Rethm has been kind enough to offer a replacement.

(I'd still love to find a new tech in the area but it seems they are thin on the ground these days...)
