I heard Sonist speakers at Axpona, a good sounding high efficient speaker with ribbon tweeters. Driven by a Triode Electronics 8 watt SET the Sonist had a smooth high end and good bass response. Seemed like a speaker the SET community has been needing for years. Nothing wrong with a decent horn, single driver although may sound good in a certain range has it's limitations, I was enthused to find the Sonist.

Its not designed that way for time alignment. Not a lot different than say a JBL L200 in that area, so then answer to your question is "lots of marks are available"

I really liked the big Sonists when I heard them..., posted on April 21, 2016 at 12:23:38
I auditioned them inside of the tiny Sonist factory in beautiful western Idaho. Driven by some very nice SET tube amps, the lifelike soundstage they threw out was probably the most remarkable thing about them. Based upon what I heard, I really couldn't fault them in any parameter.

I cannot say that there aren't better speakers (for the money) but one would be hard pressed to find speakers as good, as efficient, AND... "Made in the USA".

Audiokinesis in Southeastern Idaho and Tyler Acoustics Pro Dynamics in Kentucky are two other notable contenders in the "efficient/made in USA" speaker category. Check all of them out while you are at it.
