Hi, are there any users of the Edgar Horn Titan II, in NY or NJ? If not, near any major airport?

I am in London, and have heard thr Trios, Cessaros, etc, but from what I have read these seem to be a giant killer, and am interested in listening to one.

Please let me know, thanks
Kedar

Hi bonzo.

Did you hear the Cessaro speakers under show conditions or set up in a home ? If only under show conditions perhaps you can get in touch with Thomas ( tw-acoustics ) in Germany for a listen to properly set up Beta system.

Br. Bruce is out of the speaker business due to health problems and I don't know how many full Titan speaker systems are out there. I was at Dr. Bruce's house about 3 or 4 years ago for a listen to his field coil Titan system and it was very impressive.

I was also at Richard Drysdale's ( Cogent designer )house and listened to his field coil system and that was a real treat !!! Perhaps you can look him up. He is in the LA area.

Another interesting system is Inlow Sound ( horn system ) that looks like a great sounding system. You could get in touch with him. Good luck.

Hi I have heard the Cessaro Listz in home conditions. Also heard Tune Audio Anima, Acapella, BD Oris, Voxativs, Western Electrics and some DIY. Most horns except for AG Trios have a problem with bass integration. AG Trios are fantastic in scale and depth, they do lack some midrange magic.

I want to listen to Danley Soundlabs and Edgar, these might be the giant killers.

I will look at Inlow and Drysdale. If you have heard the Trios with bass horns and give me a comaprison, if required by PM, please do so, especially with respect to orchestral music

Thanks
Kedar

Which Oris did you hear?

And what speakers do you currently own?

I heard the ones in Bert's room, don't remember details. I owned Logans and now own Veritys, but am saving up for a good horn. Problem with a horn is getting one that does everything well at a good price

You're going to have a tough time beating the Horns in Bert's Room.

bonzo,

My friend is the U.S,A dealer for Cessaro and also has the List speakers set up at his loft. They are excellent speakers. When you get up to speakers with this much resolution, the entire chain of electronics is under a microscope---and the sound can be quite subjective. No speaker or electronic component is "perfect" so one persons perception of the systems sound my be entirely different from another persons. I have heard several Tron and TW-acoustic SET amps that sound stellar on the List speakers. My friend tells me that the sound of the List speakers has changed over a 1 year period--- for the better as they break in--and yes, a significant difference.

I have heard various Avantgarde speakers over the years at audio shows and I did not like the sound--they almost always bothered my ears !!! However this was under show (demo)conditions and were usually played very loud. I am sure a properly set up Trio system in a good room would sound great. I can't afford any of these monster horn systems so I made my own, and can tell you that mine sound about as good as any of theirs !!! and for MUCH less money.

I heard the Tineo J-horn speakers in USA Tube Audio room this May at the Newport Beach HT Show and I thought that they sounded phenomenal. Everything sounded just right and they didn't sound like horns at all. And they looked gorgeous. Just my two bits.

Where in NY are you? I am planning a visit to listen to Sadurnis, but not sure how much time I will get in NY as I Might fly to another stat to listen to Edgar horns.

I don't like the crossover and the bass of the Liszt at all - similar to Acapella and the Duos. It has a glorious midrange, but since I judge a lot on orchestral, for the scale, depth, and bass integration of Trios is much superior. Trios do have a weakness in the midrange compared to the Liszt, so I guess the two of us focus on different aspects of the sound

His paper mache horns are simply great,

They replaced my EDGAR round horns and are simply superior in every way.

I had round sub-500 Hz horns made to Inlow's specs and they are superior to the largest ever made edgarhorn's for 15 inches drivers. The Inlow uses the 12 inch driver he discovered.

The TITANs have been eclipsed.

The Inlow set up will require work on your part but if you are willing you will have a fine system for a very reasonable cost.

The SEISMICs remain an enduring achievement and are now made by a fellow in New Orleans whose name has escaped me. I would highly recommend using the SEISMICs if you have the space for them.

Edgar's architecture was based on the classic model and that is retained with my implementation of the Inlow horns.

Thanks for mentioning the Seismic Rick, I'm very glad you're happy with your new horns. Just so everyone knows, the Edgar Horn Titan is still in production. I build all of Bruce's horn here in New Orleans for him.
