 Other than a few conventional exceptions, it was again the high sensitivity speakers that produced the most realistic sound...usually with top tube gear.

companies like Living Voice, Tune Audio, Avantgarde, Blumenhofer etc. made consistently more realistic sounding systems with regard to dynamics and even soundstage reality.
