Opinions are like noses; everyone has one and everyone is different. Unless you want to shoot craps you will have to listen to them to get any meaningful data.

Hey use whatever means is available. I own the Great Plains Audio 604 8H III's, bought new November 2014. I was stopped in my tracks long ago in an Audio Salon by their sound. I am not familiar with the JBL's but I googled them. I think both would make an incredible bedroom or fine Main system speaker. The 604's like a large cabinet (>9cuft), that is why I inquired about size. I currently use a pair of Klipsch Forte speakers in my bedroom system and another pair for my computer in a living area. I can certainly recommend them to be considered. Just do some reading! Feel free to contact me via personal email.

The 604 has the benefit of being coaxial, giving maybe a better point source presentation, and there are a lot of crossover tweeks to the 604. I would imagine if you went either way you would be satisfied. Go with the cheaper option?
