 Recently bought a very expensive download from 2L but was happy to pay the price as the short extract previews were interesting.
Paid the money and then pressed the download button/.

A staggering 11kb download speed ensued and still downloading with over 38 hours to go despite downloading for over 14 hours.

Bad enough paying their stratospheric prices but having to leave the computer on for 3 days to download the file is infuriating and in this day of high speed downlads downright criminal!
It is only a 2Gig file; normally this takes me well less than 10 minutes not 72 hours.

And on their website they do apologise that occassionally the download speed is slow! But glacial??

 Sometimes download speeds are faster depending on the country of origin and their server quality... And of course yours.

That may be so but 2L in delivering a download speed of less than 20k defies all logic especially considering their files for the highest resolution are larger than 11Gig!
As mentioned in my earlier post my normal download speed is in excess of 1Meg; well over 50 times faster than the download speed from Norway?!
One never knows where these companies have their servers but 2L is a Norwegian based company.
The downloads come from a company listed as shop.kicktrack.com which has its server in the US; according to tracert software.
Australian downloads are extremely highspeed for those connected to the NBN which is a purely fibreoptic system.
But to have download speeds as slow as dialup shows 2L is not interested in their clients but only frustrating them out of their funds.

 There are many possible reasons for the poor performance you experienced. These start with the software in your computer and in 2L's computer and include all the hardware and software and traffic on the path between them. You have provided no evidence that justifies blaming 2L. You are obviously not knowledgeable about how the Internet works, because if you were you would have already diagnosed the problem and helped to fix it, instead of bitching.

I suggest following a more cooperative approach. This may gain you new friends rather than new enemies. You may even find that your new friends provide benefits in the form of free downloads, etc... if you have been particularly helpful. At the very least, if you don't complain publicly you won't be hanging out a flag that others may interpret as, "I am in idiot asshole." Just saying...

 My experience with 2L is not that bad as you mentioned. I bought 24/352K files from them a few times plus their free download. If my memory serves me right, it took me about 2-3 hours for the whole record during non-peak hours.

When I mentioned non-peak hours, I mean avoiding non peak in my local area, US and Europe. I am in Hong Kong.

 That download speed is not normal for 2L or anyone else. Why not stop the download and pop them a note telling them what you are experiencing. They might be able to help.

 My At&T Uverse download speed is between 11 and 20 MBPS which for most PCM files is acceptable. I just go find something else to do for a while if it is a 24/192 file. DSD is out of the question for me due to this slow speed, but 24/192 and DSD is not that much different...at least to me. We have no fiber running in our Subdivision, so it is what it is.

I do mostly 2496 as I can burn them to DVD-Rs and play them in my players. I love the smoothness of files that started out at least at native 2496.

 Wow, had no idea ATT is capable of those DL speeds.
Looks like most files will be done in under 3 minutes.

Maybe I'll rethink how "wonderful" my Cox connection it hat tops out at 4-5MBPS
