I would appreciate some suggestions for a device that will hold 200 gigs of hi res files internally either on a hard drive or maybe from an inserted jump drive that can be connected directly to my stereo that is not a piece of software running off my Mac. I want a separate piece of hardware. Can't be more than four or five hundred bucks. Anyone know of such a device? Thanks.

Possibly the FiiO X5 for about $350 USD plus the cost of two 128GB microSD cards. It offers analog out and coaxial digital out.

Visit their (slow) website at http://www.fiio.com.cn and select products, X5

Pono Music Player. 64gb built in memory, and microSD card slot with up to 128gb at the moment. Designed by Pono Music and Ayre. Partnered with AudioQuest and Sandisk. Single ended and balanced output. Headphone single & balancd out. Headphone balanced out with phones that have replaceable cords. Output stage made from discrete components.

Do you have a Hi-Rez DAC with a USB input or a Hi-Rez USB-to-S/PDIF converter in your system?
