First, kind of new to this. I have a little experience having set up a FLAC server made from an old Dell mini 10. But I'm wanting a player. Is the FiiO X3 a good all around player I could hook up to my B&K Ref 50 and listen to FLAC files and then take with me to the car? Or are there too many compromises there? I'm already a little miffed because it seems I would have to have tons of Micro SD cards instead of a large drive. Is there another player that has the ability to run an external SS or conventional drive? Is 64 gig enough? I don't think it is. |

Most portables support 64 or even 128 Gb SD cards I do think this a bit small the moment one loads lossless files. Almost all of my audio is lossless but for the portable I simply convert to 320 kbps MP3 This allows me to put a substantial amount on the portable without scarifying much sound quality wise The Well Tempered Computer |
