Esoteric K-01/3 with Mac music server?

 I am considering purchasing the Esoteric K-01. I would like to use it with my Mac as a high res music server and control from my iPad. I know their proprietary driver/player will not do this. Will a third party app like Pure Music 2 work with this player? Thanks for any info.

 Skinzy,

Yes you will need to purchase Channel D's Pure Music or J River Musicplayer for Mac to utilize high rez. Apple itunes will not do varying sample rates you have to manually change the sample rate IIRC.

 Not sure if Esoteric has a good implementation of USB.

 I believe what sordidman is trying to say is that there are some manufacturers that add a USB output on their Player/DAC as an afterthought. Some have hinted that if the USB output is not engineered into the product correctly that high jitter and dropouts will occur.
