The 96/24 files are stunning. This is ground zero. Page got more recorded detail, space between instruments and nuance than form any other versions.

Stunning, and sets a high standard. The Van Morrison 192 Khz Moondance is also top shelf and as good.

USA Today had a nice write up about it. I am curious as well.
Anyone buying those deluxe editions?

I agree with Sprezza. Listening to Moby Dick, you can really hear the room. Plus, it seems to me that the bass is just a bit fuller in this mix. Bass drum has a lot of weight and definition. If Jimmy does this quality for LZ IV, it will be the best version ever released including the 45rpm Classic version.

I in turn agree about Moby Dick.

Page has already finished mastering the entire catalog, they are just staggering the releases.

The original (pre production) mixes were archived to 192/24, and according Page, as faithful as possible to the original analog tape. I am pleased, as a long time fanatic.

should be as good as the download. For those who have put much more money into their analog system than their digital system the lp's might sound better. For me, I'll stick with the 24/96 files. My Ayre DAC sound better than my TT.

Listened to the remastered 24-96 recordings of Led Sep 1,2 and 3 on Saturday in my home. I think it's the best version yet and better than the SHM reissues. Well worth the money. The Bass is much better and Robert Plants voice no longer screechy. Highs are nice and extended, very enjoyable listening.

Listening to the 96/24 II right now. Initial impressions - very natural bass - well defined, not flabby, sounds like a plucked instrument. Lots of air between instruments, good definition, soundstage generous right-to-left and front-to-back. Acoustic guitar in "Thank You" very sweet. Seems a touch bright, but it might just be me. "Bring It on Home" is quite cool - brings it into the living room.

Extras are meh.

Will eventually get around to an A/B with the Classic Records copy. So far, I am impressed.

Listened again. It's not too bright..., posted on June 10, 2014 at 20:22:17

I will get the 2 CDs of II in a couple of days. Not high res, but I will be able to compare to SHM.
I got the extras because the WLL rough mix sample on Amazon sounded like something that I need to hear.

I look forward to getting III and especially IV and PG.
On the II CD I heard more sounds that I did not notice w/ my SHM. I actually listened to the whole album. It was very much worth the $5 to me to hear the vocals on the rough mix of the extra WLL song.
The value is way better than SHM.
But I did hear some glare on the vocals sometimes, as if the digital equipment used was not the best.
