Hi, when I drag DSF Files onto my IMac Desktop to copy them onto the Hard Drive,
is ITunes involved? It doesn't start up like when copying CDs.
Is J River a better way to copy DSD Files from my Sony D100?
I burn DSD Discs with Korg Audio Gate.
I'm thinking of getting a Sony Z1 File Player, and want to include Files from my
Sony DSD Recorder.

According to the website, the newest ( 19 ) may be unstable, older versions available.
Recommendations?

Your iMac is likely seeing the Sony recorder as a mounted hard drive. If you're just dragging the DSD files to the desktop, iTunes isn't involved. It only starts up automatically if you insert a CD. (And what iTunes does with that CD can be configured in iTunes' preferences.)

No experience with JRiver.
