I agree. When I looked into this, the procedure seemed to be a lot more complicated than simply hooking up the PS3 to a PC, e.g., you have to install bootleg firmware on the PS3 just for starters.

I read through it, as I have the original 80g V.1 PS3, but ehhh.

Here's the way to do it:

Nobody listens to music through a computer for serious listening. They use a computer to manage their digital files and to feed a digital stream to their DACs.

It's a beautiful way to go. Those who think otherwise have either never heard a well set up system or are too pig headed to accept something new.

Its a PDF that I've sent to 100+ audio lovers of all types. It's on it's fourth iteration. .It walks you through installing the firmware and keys for the suitable Ps3' install and set up extraction of DSD files from the ISOs, and some cook book guidelines to playing native DSd or converting to PCM. Feel free to ping me and I'll fwd to you

I've ripped my 400 SACD library and play the stereo DSd files on my Meitner MA1 DAC and/or my Mytek Stereo192 DSD DAC. I hope to one day soon also have a multichannel DSD computer solution.

I think the big news is that if SACD's can be ripped the format may become popular again , er.

I'll take my uber "dose" of audio with reel to reel or vinyl. SACD mch is interesting, so far, as long as the PCM elves are resting.

It is beyond my belief that audiophiles with uber hardware/cables can't wait to "pack up"/distort that pure DSD stream so carefully produced, in most cases. Regards. Peace.
