I've got a number of tweaks planned for the 9000ES. My budget is limited though, so I was wondering which of these would give me the most improvement for starters. Isolation products? (if so which), Power cord (I'm considering the Vansevers Pandora), EVS Mod (this one is probably going to give me the most improvement but it's looking like, budget-wise, I may have to wait till Jan. to do it.

Hola John. My suggestion, give the unit enough time to break-in, enjoy it and learn how it performes. Them, read other experiences and compared to yours. After some time living and knowing your 9000ES you can start playing with it looking for better sound( if needed). This will give you time too to use the guarranty period too.

As modifications goes, the AC cord is a good starting point as well as using better IC. I believe some of the Tweakers around could put a turbo in your machine , meanwhile start saving some $$$ for the mods.

Enjoy,

Jose.

Jose,

You know, I have to laugh at myself sometimes; I'm at a point now where what's coming out of my system is hitting just the right note with my ears, and still I feel the urge to push it further. Your words ring true though, it's time to relax, enjoy what I've put together, till I'm throughly familar with the new sonic landscape. Though with what I'm hearing about "break-in" time being in the hundreds of hours; and separately even, for the CD, DVD and SACD parts of the unit, it'll be 2002 before I get the sucker fully broken in on all levels :)

I know what you mean. 400 x 3 = 1,200 hours or 50 days of continious playing time. Hard times at Christmas Season. But really, leave it on playing all that time and it will do ok. We got desperate at occations and patience is what we need a lot.

Ask Santa for a few SACDs and some tweaks and cross your fingers.

Happy Holidays,

Jose ( 90 degrees, hot sun and blue beaches all year long)
