Telarc is releasing a marvelous new SACD:

"Music of Hovhaness," Yolanda Kondonassis, harp; Werthen, I Fiamminghi; various other musicians. Recorded in October 1998 and April 1999. Disc ancestry is pure DSD via dCS (Europe) and Meitner (USA) DSD chipset implementations; stereo mix only on SACD hybrid disc.

This is an *extraordinary* recording. Of all the things difficult to record, a harp would certainly be on my list. Rick Gardner and I listened to this disc for a while last weekend, and were entranced by it. The clarity of a Meitner processed recording has to be heard to be appreciated. (Those of you who love the MoFi SACD of Ellington's "Blues in Orbit" are getting to hear the Meitner system, by the way.)

Besides which, I love Hovhaness!
